School Sports Site

Published by Michael at 11:14 am under Reviews

I was browsing around for some information to help with my son’s soccer skills recently, and came across a site that I had never seen before. It is kind of hard to describe, and I even looked for an “about” page or in the site’s description for help, but all of those normal resources were empty. (I will write more about that on one of my technical blogs. Why would you not want people to know who you are or what you are about? I just don’t understand!)

Anyway… the site I found was SportsGist. This is a place with lots of information for aspiring athletes and also for the coaches and recruiters working with the players.

ClemsonOn, SportsGist, you can find college recruiting videos to help you keep up with your favorite team – which should be LSU or Clemson if you want my opinion. Who in their right mind would choose a gamecock over a tiger as a mascot?

They also have a high school sports live section. If there is anything that life in the South teaches you, it is that there is nothing so important to a lot of people as the Friday night lights. Those end of the school week football games can drain a mall or a competing civic event. Trust me, don’t try to plan a reception that conflicts with the local football game.

Oh, and back to my son and his soccer, if anyone knows of any good sites to help a U14 with skills and speed, please let me know. There is always hope that in a few years those college recruiting calls may be coming to our house!
