Please Back Up!!
It is about time to start thinking about your New Years resolutions, right? I know you are thinking I am going to talk about exercising, eating right, or doing all those other things you really don’t want to do, but no. I am talking about resolving to do something that you really do want to do. It may well even go along with a new toy you got for Christmas! How about resolving to actually do backups on your computer files? No, not glamorous, but really worthwhile. What’s more, I can give you a way to make following through on that resolution as painless as possible.

Mozy just sent me my files a few hours after I requested them. We had to wipe the hard drive clean after my teenager downloaded a bunch of spyware and somehow disconnected Word from my documents (I’m a freelance writer, so this was a disaster!)
As you know, Mozy is free up to 2 GB. It’s perfect for my little archive. Going through the approx. 1200 files they sent back to me made me resolve not to save useless old versions of documents and ugly photos.
Maybe I should put a Mozy ad on my blog, too!
@Anna – Maybe you should! And I agree. When you go back to recover or find things, you start to realize how much “junk” you store. And cheap storage just makes it all the easier to do…
