About Me

Published by Michael

I am Michael Carnell. There, that is settled! I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. When I graduated from the College of Charleston I lived for six months in Savannah, Georgia, before moving to Atlanta and getting married. We lived in Atlanta for about three and a half years, then moved back to Charleston where we have been ever since.

My PictureMy interests are varied but include writing, religion, harassing my kids, messing around with old European cars – especially British, watching soccer of all varieties, partaking of the occasional cigar or pipe, and traveling as much as possible.

At the moment I drive an 2001 Ford Escape – not exotic, but practical for my needs. I had a beautiful brand new 2002 MINI Cooper S that I brought home on July 13th, 2002. I loved that car! To see it just go to My Mini’s Website. In addition I had a 1977 MG B that was put on the road after about 3 1/2 years of work. During that time I also had an MG 1100 sedan that I never quite found the time to restore. To find out more about MG 1100s go to my MG 1100 site. To find out more about all the British cars I love, just visit JustBritish. I am currently looking for an MG B GT – if you have one for sale or know who does, please let me know. In the meantime I have purchased a 1973 MG Midget to restore. If you would like to see it, please go to my MG Midget Page.

On the work side, I lead Palmettobug Digital. Palmettobug Digital, partnered with PST Charleston, is a consulting, training and development company here in Charleston devoted to empowering people through technology. I also do a good bit of writing for technical publications of both the print and electronic variety. For more details on what I have written, check out my list of publications.
