A Unitarian Universalist Giraffe

Published by Michael under General

This picture says a lot about our church, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. And yes, he participates annually in the nativity scene.

Smart Choice

Published by Michael under General

I saw this great combo on the way home near Barnes & Noble on Thursday. Ma’am, whoever you are, you rock. I love the car. I love the board on top. And I love the combo. Keep doing your thing and keep the world fun. I owe you one!!

Posting Google Buzz on Posterous

Published by Michael under General

I just wanted to post the link to my Google Buzz profile in case anyone on Posterous is interested. Just go to http://www.google.com/profiles/carnellm and you will find me!

Honestly I am not sure how Buzz will work. There was a lot of buzz, excuse the pun, about Wave when it first came out, but that soon died out. Now I really don't know anyone using Wave of that excited about it. But, Buzz is a bit different and a bit easier to wrap your head around. For those who already have GMail accounts, it is like have FaceBook updates right there in your GMail. For those who have tried to used Twitter but it didn't make sense, Buzz is a bit like an organized and more controllable version of that social media platform.

So, only time will tell! But, in the meantime, please look me up and follow. I will do the same for you….

My Best of 2009

Published by Michael under Family and Friends, General

I was thinking about all the cool stuff that happened over the past year, and started to be amazed. Amid all the financial problems and other difficulties, a lot of good stuff went on. So many good things happened that I decided to write them down. And trust me, there are even more than are on this list…

There are actually lots more, like volunteering with the church, working with the Hilton Head Concours, spending time with the family, my dad’s 75th birthday, teaching some great students and such. But, you get the picture. Don’t forget to look at the good times. When you write it all down, you just may have more than you counted on.

Time To Get New Business Cards

Published by Michael under General

Well, I am about out of my current cards, and I discovered that I actually forgot to put my phone number on them. Yes, I know it was pretty lame, but I am so used to email and people using email to contact me that I didn’t even know the number wasn’t there for about 3 months. Finally an old-school friend told me that he didn’t know my number because it wasn’t on the card. Duh!

Palmettobug Digital Business CardAnyway, I have been using online printing services for holiday cards, business card printing and other printing needs, so of course I am looking at doing the same thing again. I just find that the online printers offer far better discounts, and capabilities even, than the local places. I have tried a few different places bu will probably am looking at using PsPrint this time since they offer discount printing that looks very attractive.

My basic needs are a colorful card printed front and back, the ability to include the logos for my Apple and Microsoft certifications, and some customization in terms of how I place the text on the card. I have never gotten any posters or such done, but I have thought about getting postcards to send out to prospective clients. Although in my mind, postcards fall into roughly the same categories as phones. I just don’t use them much! But, I know other people do, so if I can get a good discount on the postcard printing, I may go for that too.

The long and the short of all of this is – if you have any recommendations on how to do this or printers to use, please let me know. Your input is welcome and greatly appreciated!

Hmm… and maybe I will get someone totally impartial to proofread this time.
